Deck Replacement

The second floor deck on a 2-family house was rotten and falling away from the house.  The deck was removed without dismantling the first floor deck below it and replaced.  The sheathing behind the original ledger board was rotten, so framing and sheathing on the house were repaired first.  A new ledger board was installed, and the deck framing was put up using all pressure treated lumber with galvanized steel joist hangars.  The decking is tongue and groove mahogany, the railings are pressure treated lumber.  Composite boards were used for all trim.  The ledger board and top of decking were flashed to divert water away.  After these pictures were taken, the siding and trim on the house were replaced as necessary.
