Farmers Porch Repair

The front carrier beam of this 35' farmers porch was rotten and insect damaged to the point where it wasn't actually holding the roof up.  The roofing was tin and not flashed properly.  The porch was stripped, the front 4"x6" carrier beam was replaced with a doubled laminated beam.  The side carrier beams were shored up, and the porch was re-trimmed.  Insulation was added under the second floor bump out, the ceiling was repaired as necessary, and a properly flashed asphalt roof was installed.  The house siding and trim were replaced as necessary.
